Biometrics verification authenticates identity through biometric liveness and facial recognition. You configure it in your Trust Flow product settings, then run it as part of your verification journey.

How it works

Processes

Biometrics verification runs a pipeline that typically includes:
  • Liveness detection — Confirms the subject is physically present and the capture is not a replay or static image.
  • Facial biometrics matching — Compares the live capture to reference imagery (for example, a document photo) when your flow includes a match step.
These appear as selectable processes when you configure the biometrics product in the portal.

Inputs

The main input you collect from the end user is:
  • Biometric selfie — A live face capture from the device camera (or an uploaded selfie when you allow uploads in tool settings).
Ensure lighting and framing meet your capture guidelines so liveness scores stay reliable.

Tool settings

You tune behaviour and responses in the product Settings panel. Settings are grouped as below; use the information icons in the portal for field-level help.

Verification workflow & automation

SettingPurpose
Verified when Biometrics Liveness score is aboveThis is the threshold for the Biometrics Liveness score between 0-1. A higher score indicates a more reliable liveness and spoof detection.
Perform injection attack detectionDetects and prevents injection attacks on the biometrics verification process. This feature is only available for Direct Link integration and not available via API.
Perform advance face compareWhen enabled, will look for source based on the metadata added in the API and look for previous trust validation results with that metadata to extract the biometrics verification to perform face compare with.
Perform duplicate detectionPerform duplicate detection to prevent multiple registrations using the same biometrics. If enabled, you can set the action to take when a duplicate is detected.
Allow selfie uploadAllow users to upload selfie files instead of capturing with camera. This option is disabled when Face Plus is enabled.

Output and responses

SettingPurpose
Return face imageReturns the captured face image from the biometrics verification.

UI and UX customization

SettingPurpose
Enable small capturing modeReduces the size of the face detection capturing area to a smaller circle for a more compact UI.
The options available to you reflect what is enabled for your account—so you may not see every setting listed here, and labels can differ slightly. If anything is missing or you need guidance, contact IDmeta support.
