# Phone Number Verification

> How Phone Number Verification confirms phone number ownership through SMS one-time-passcode validation.

Phone Number Verification confirms phone number ownership through **SMS one-time-passcode (OTP)** validation. You add it to your **Trust Flow** and configure it in the product **Settings** panel.

## How it works

The user supplies a phone number, the system sends an one-time-passcode (OTP) by SMS, and the user enters the code to prove they control that number
