# iOS setup

> Minimum versions, Info.plist permissions, and Podfile settings for the IDmeta Mobile SDK on iOS.

Complete this setup after you add [`idmeta_flutter`](https://pub.dev/packages/idmeta_flutter). Then launch the flow with `startVerification` on [Mobile SDK](https://docs.idmetagroup.com/developer-tools/mobile-sdk).

## Requirements

* iOS 16.0 or later
* Flutter 3.44.1 or later
* `platform :ios, '16.0'` in the Podfile
* Pod deployment target 16.0

## Info.plist

Add usage descriptions in `ios/Runner/Info.plist`:

```xml theme={null}
<key>NSCameraUsageDescription</key>
<string>This app needs camera access to scan identity documents and perform biometric verification.</string>
<key>NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription</key>
<string>This app needs photo library access to upload identity documents.</string>
<key>NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription</key>
<string>This app needs location access to verify your location.</string>
```

## Podfile

Set the platform to iOS 16, keep `use_frameworks!` in the Runner target, and force iOS 16 plus camera permission support in `post_install`:

```ruby theme={null}
platform :ios, '16.0'
```

```ruby theme={null}
post_install do |installer|
  installer.pods_project.targets.each do |target|
    flutter_additional_ios_build_settings(target)
    target.build_configurations.each do |config|
      config.build_settings['IPHONEOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET'] = '16.0'
      config.build_settings['GCC_PREPROCESSOR_DEFINITIONS'] ||= [
        '$(inherited)',
        'PERMISSION_CAMERA=1',
      ]
    end
  end
end
```

## Troubleshooting

* **Flutter below 3.44.1** — `flutter pub get` fails with a version solving error. Upgrade Flutter.
* **Deployment target below 16** — CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager mismatch.
* **Missing usage strings** — crash on the first camera or location prompt.
